A Message From Sue

In 2003, a friend introduced me to Reiki healing energy, saying "It will fit perfectly with your ministry!"  She was right, and Reiki has been an energizing eye-opening part of my life ever since.

Thanks to the understanding and vision of the congregation I serve, I have been able to learn and practice Reiki at home and during continuing education sessions over the years.  In 2008, part of my sabbatical was spent in Sedona, AZ, taking Reiki classes at Infinite Light Healing Studies Center.  I am excited about sharing Reiki with others through giving Reiki sessions and teaching classes.  I believe Reiki is something everyone needs to experience!

Reiki was "born" on Japan's sacred Kurama mountain when MIkao Usui was on a 21-day retreat there in 1922.  He had an experience that introduced him to Reiki and from then on he shared it with many others.

Reiki, a combination of rei and ki meaning life force energy, is healing energy and a holistic art that promotes relaxation, stress reduction and spiritual growth.  The healing light and energy of Reiki can nourish our bodies and help balance our mental and emotional energy by filling us with light, love and peace.

In receiving the divine love and healing energy that comes form Reiki, many people realize a deeper awareness, or reawakening, of their spirituality.

As people from all parts of the world are sharing Reiki, understanding between and among cultures and religious traditions can be fostered with the hope that peace, love and harmony will come to all the people.
